The 42mm Bite Valve Cap is a replacement cap and auto-seal bite valve with a leak-proof threaded design, made for any HydraPak product with a 42mm opening. Its job is to restore a secure seal and a working bite valve, not to change how the tube performs.
Fit rules before you buy
Check the opening on your reservoir or flask first. The 42mm Bite Valve Cap fits all HydraPak products with a 42mm opening, so if your current cap threads on and off easily at that size, this is a direct replacement. The HydraFusion Tube is a tube-and-bite-valve assembly; it connects through the Plug-N-Play connector rather than threading onto the reservoir opening. If you are unsure which end of your system is failing, look for the leak: a drip at the cap threads points to the 42mm cap, while a worn or stiff bite valve at the end of the drink line points to the tube kit.
When to replace rather than upgrade
Replacing a bite valve from time to time helps maintain your hydration system, and the Blaster Bite Valve Sheath 2-Pack is a low-cost way to refresh the mouthpiece on all HydraPak bite valves on Reservoirs, SoftFlasks, and UltraFlasks. Note that Blaster Sheaths do not fit the newer Comet bite valve that comes with the HydraFusion Tube, so if you already run a Comet valve, the sheath pack is not the right spare. For a full line refresh with insulation, go with the HydraFusion Tube; for a seal-only fix at the opening, go with the 42mm Bite Valve Cap.
