The HydraPak PackFlask 750ml offers ultra-light, hands-free hydration for fast-and-light day hikes and long treks, attaching securely to your pack harness.
Quick answer
The HydraPak PackFlask 750ml is a top choice for hikers and trekkers who want ultra-light, hands-free hydration without the bulk of a traditional reservoir.
Why choose the PackFlask 750ml?
The PackFlask 750ml is designed for fast-and-light adventures. Its innovative attachment system lets you secure it directly to your pack harness, keeping water within easy reach without stopping. The bottle collapses when empty, saving space in your pack.
Compared to a standard hydration bladder, the PackFlask is more compact and easier to access. It's also lighter than many rigid bottles, making it a great option for ultralight backpacking.
Trade-offs to consider
While the PackFlask is excellent for short to moderate trips, its 750ml capacity may not be enough for long, water-scarce treks. You'll need to plan refills or carry additional water. Also, the soft flask design lacks the insulation of a rigid bottle, so water may warm up in hot conditions.
Decision rules for buying the PackFlask 750ml
- Hydration capacity: Choose the PackFlask 750ml if you need about 25 ounces of water for day hikes or as a supplement to a larger reservoir. For longer trips, consider a larger capacity or multiple flasks.
- Attachment system: The stretch mesh pouch secures the flask and can also hold a phone, snacks, or map when the flask is removed. Ensure your pack harness has compatible attachment points.
- Weight and packability: At ultra-light weight and collapsible design, the PackFlask is ideal for minimizing bulk. If you prioritize insulation or durability over weight, a rigid bottle may be better. Check your pack's harness for attachment loops before purchasing.
